While Natrez Patrick was being notified of his arrest late Saturday night, receiver Jayson Stanley told Barrow County Sheriff’s Deputies that the marijuana found in his vehicle was his, not the Georgia inside linebacker’s.
But since a small amount of marijuana was found on the passenger seat Patrick was sitting on, to go with a Tropicana orange juice bottle containing marijuana on the passenger side floorboard, Patrick was placed under arrest for possessing less than an ounce of marijuana.
Stanley was also booked for suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs and speeding (87 mph in a 65 mph zone).
Stanley’s admission to possessing the marijuana himself was not included in the original police report containing the information of their arrests. This revelation was caught on the Sheriff deputies’ body camera footage, which was released to 11 Alive.
When Patrick was notified he was under arrest, he seemed surprised.
“Say what?” Patrick asked the officer.
Stanley then admitted the marijuana was his and pleaded with the arresting deputies not to book
