A homicide, an 18-person drug sweep and a stolen car recovery kept some local, law enforcement agencies busy over the long Christmas weekend.
A Jacksonville man died from at least one gunshot wound sustained in a Friday morning altercation with another man at the Cave, a Jacksonville gentlemen’s Club located at 531 Richlands Hwy. Jacksonville Police Department officers received a call of shots fired shortly before 2 a.m. When officers arrived they found 39-year-old Tyrone Lamont Bailey with a life-threatening gunshot wound. Bailey died at the scene.
Jyree Dominic Noel, 32, of Grants Creek Road in Jacksonville was charged with an open count of murder; first-degree kidnapping; felony malicious conduct by a prisoner; resisting a public officer; assault on a government official or employee; altering, stealing or destroying criminal evidence; felony possession of marijuana and two counts of felony trafficking cocaine.
Noel remains in custody in the Onslow County Jail under no bond for the murder and had a bond set at $1,025,000 for the additional charges. Noel had his first appearance on Dec. 22 and told the
