AMARILLO, Texas —
A highway patrol office stopped a vehicle in Oldham County Sunday night, leading to a seizure of more than 50 pounds of marijuana.
The officer stopped the driver 60 miles west of Amarillo for a traffic violation when he discovered three plastic bags containing 59 pounds of marijuana in the car. The drugs are worth approximately $358,000.
Mark Zerfoss, 50, was arrested and charged with felony possession of marijuana. He was trying to transport the marijuana from Arcata, California to Greensboro, North Carolina.
Zerfoss was taken to the Oldham County Jail.
