CBD: 101 – Natural Approaches to Symptom Management and Pharmaceutical Substitution will be held May 19 at 6824 Wilgrove-Mint Hill Road. The forum is sponsored by Harvest the Good, a Charlotte-based nonprofit that advocates for the use of medicinal cannabis and hemp. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door, and proceeds go to HOPE, a nonprofit support group for families of children with a disability or medical condition.
“People with chronic illnesses, they are speaking in general to a crowd of people about this topic,” Harvest the Good founder Sharon Wright said.
The forum includes medical professionals and parents who tout the benefits of CBD, or cannabidiol oil, to manage pain. Speakers include Dr. James Taylor, founder of Integrated Hemp Solution in Southern Pines, N.C, and and Kelly Whitt-Helms, a licensed physical therapist and founder of Full Circle Pediatric Therapy in Indian Trail.
