Rocky Mount, N.C. — An Elm City couple was arrested Monday after Nash County deputies found an indoor marijuana growing operation and a still inside their home, authorities said Wednesday.
Deputies responded to a home in the 7000 block of Riverpoint Road after receiving complaints about possible drug activity. The deputies caught a whiff of marijuana from inside the home, and a search revealed a growing operation complete with lights, heat lamps and other equipment, authorities said. The also found a moonshine still and several weapons in the home.
Anthony Wayne King, 53, and Terry Lynn King, 52, were charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver a Schedule VI controlled substance, maintaining a vehicle, dwelling or place for controlled substances, possession of drug paraphernalia, felony possession of marijuana and manufacturing liquor without a permit. Anthony King also was charged with possession of a weapon of mass destruction, altering or remove a gun serial number and possession of a firearm by a felon.
Anthony King was being held in the Nash County jail under a $25,500 bond,
