NC Medical Marijuana Cards
North Carolina – Medical marijuana cards, or MMJ cards are state issued identification cards that allow medical marijuana patients to obtain legal cannabis products. In most current legal states MMJ patients need to have a recommendation from a certified doctor or in some states registered nurses. This allows the purchase of marijuana products, in North Carolina at some point, from a registered cannabis dispensary to possess or cultivate cannabis for medicinal use.
NC Medical Cannabis Cards are currently not available in the state. For programs in the majority of legalized states, the cannabis MMJ card is valid for up to 12 months and typically is renewable. Legalized states also have different requirements for obtaining a medical cannabis card. In over 22 states in the United States it is currently possible to obtain your medical cannabis card, North Carolina, along with the majority of the southern states has not had enough pressure applied yet. This is despite the large outcry from the Pro-Marijuana supporters and suffering patients living in North Carolina. Recreational marijuana is also currently available in several states, and being considered in others.
Medical Marijuana Cards are issued by a state or county in which medical cannabis is recognized. Typically a patient is required to pay a fee to the state in order to be eligible for a medical cannabis card. North Carolina is moving slowly in the right direction.
