Authorities have been investigating a string of dispensary burglaries in the Choctaw and Harrah area. Five burglaries near the area have now been tied to four others.
The Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Department were first called out to a dispensary break-in in the early morning hours at 14022 SE 29th. While there they received a call from the Harrah Police Department informing them of four other dispensaries that had occurred that night.
All the stores were equipped with cameras and alarms, but that didn’t seem to concern the thieves. For each of the burglaries the thieves had the same entry process, according to investigators.
“They busted out the glass of the front door, they went in, two to five minutes and then they were gone,” said Sgt. Paul Harmon with the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Department.
As the department began checking with other agencies, they quickly connected the crimes.
“On May 12th, 2021 there were three incidents, in Mustang, Tuttle, and New Castle,” said Sabrina Trice with the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office. “Six more incidents were reported on May 19th, 2021. Four in Harrah, one in rural Harrah and one in Oklahoma City’s jurisdiction.”
