CONYERS — With cooperation from two North Carolina law enforcement agencies, the Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office made a traffic stop on Ga. Highway 138 Thursday, seizing 30 pounds of marijuana. The investigation then led to a search warrant at a home on Jessica Way where 10 more pounds of marijuana were found. Two people have been arrested and charged, with more arrests pending.
“I am proud to announce that the deputies at Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office are working hard for the citizens of Rockdale,” said Sheriff Eric J. Levett. “We will not allow people to traffic drugs to or through our county.”
According to a news release from the Sheriff’s Office, the Rockdale County Special Investigation Unit (RCSIU), along with officers from the Gastonia (N.C.) Police Department and the Charlotte (N.C.) High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) concluded a three-month investigation into the drug trafficking activities of several individuals at the Jessica Way residence.
