PLYMOUTH MEETING, PA — A medical marijuana dispensary may soon be opening up on a commercial strip in Plymouth Meeting.
Verilife, which lists locations in Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, Ohio and Pennsylvania, announced that a dispensary would soon open up at 601 West Germantown Pike in Plymouth Township.
The location is within a small commercial strip center that also includes the Mission BBQ restaurant.
The company’s website states that the dispensary will be “coming soon,” but it does not offer an anticipated opening date.
Patch reached out to Verilife to try and confirm a planned opening date but did not immediately hear back.
Plymouth Township Manager Karen Weiss confirmed that a dispensary is poised to open at that location. She told Patch that under Pennsylvania’s medical marijuana law, dispensaries are permitted wherever retail sales are allowed, and no planning/zoning/municipal council approval is needed for a company to move forward with its plans.
Weiss did say, however, that representatives with the company previously went before Plymouth Township’s planning agency and zoning hearing board and received permission to remove three parking spaces that were not required spaces at the commercial location, and to increase the height of a fence surrounding the security
