ROCKY MOUNT — Authorities say a Wilson man is among three people caught with large amounts of cocaine, heroin and marijuana in an Interstate 95 traffic stop.
A Tar River Regional Drug Task Force investigation led police and deputies to pull over a white Hyundai Sonata sedan for a traffic violation Thursday night near mile marker 138, Chief Deputy Brandon Medina of the Nash County Sheriff’s Office said.
After searching the car, officers arrested 20-year-old Brendon Rashad White of 103 Garwin Drive W., Apt. 4A, Wilson; 48-year-old Cohn Deangelo Hinton of 1615 Poole Road, Raleigh; and 25-year-old Kendrick Dequan Rogers of 3018 Grey Harbor Drive in Raleigh.
Medina said task force members found about 2.8 pounds of cocaine, 3.6 ounces of heroin and 6 pounds of marijuana — large enough quantities to result in drug trafficking charges. Authorities also seized 559 grams (about 1.2 pounds) of “an undetermined liquid located inside the passenger area of the vehicle.”
